About CareGene

We didn't start a company. We built what we desperately needed.

CareGene began at home, in the early mornings and late nights between specialist visits. It became a company because every other rare disease family we met was drowning in the same way we were, stitching together fragmented tools that made coordinating care far harder, and far slower, than it should ever be.

Our story

Built for our son. Then for every family carrying this.

In 2024, our lives changed forever when our 2.5-year-old son was diagnosed with a rare condition. Broken, lost, and looking for answers, we quickly hit a hard truth: there was no tool to guide us, no roadmap to follow, and no single place where we could track his appointments, log his visit details, and manage his daily care.

The next six months were a blur of specialist visits, medication and nutrition tracking, clinical findings, and research. We tried everything: files, spreadsheets, journal apps, MyChart, notes apps, and voice memos recorded at 2 AM that we would later forget existed. Each tool captured a tiny fragment of our son's health, but none of them carried the story forward to the next appointment.

We needed one place where the full story lived. A workspace where a midnight seizure log, a Tuesday neurology visit, and a Friday lab result belonged to the same continuous record, right alongside a video of him cutting his birthday cake. We needed the next clinician to walk into the room already knowing what we had been through, instead of asking us to recap years of medical history in a fifteen-minute appointment.

So we started building that workspace for ourselves. Then we met other rare disease parents, and the chaos we had been carrying turned out to be universal. The system was not going to fix itself, and our children deserved better than fragmented care.

Today, CareGene does what we wished existed in 2024. It brings care tasks, caregiver communication, nutrition, voice notes, photos, videos, vitals, lab results, and every clinical visit into one unified timeline that you control and your medical team can trust. We are still early in this journey, but we know exactly what to build, because we live it every day.
